Zahra Homsi-Member of BLOM Shabeb Team

March 30, 2012

BLOM shabeb’s continuous effort to help college students with their thesis, masters and even internship and employment opportunities is the cornerstone of many young graduates’ future. We sit with Zahra Homsi, as she tells us about her experience with BLOM shabeb’s team and their support.

Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Zahra Homsi; I’m 22 years old. I have a Masters in Business Management from the USJ.

Why BLOM shabeb?
I wanted to present my thesis based on the HR department, more specifically, the success story of Mr. Azhari; I was very inspired by his story so I wanted my thesis to tackle the core of the HR department and have an in-depth study of their day-to-day operations.

How was their support effective to your thesis?
The team was always tending to my questions, helping me further understand their procedures, whether for job interviews, assessments or even their orientation office. I felt as if I am part of that team, they would address me as a member, giving me a true experience of the HR department beyond the theoretical aspect of my studies. It is very interesting and enriching to see everything you had learned in theory applied thoroughly in a highly professional establishment.

What are your personal thoughts about the BLOM shabeb program?
To be honest I was surprised; the team consists of young enthusiastic individuals whom I felt I could relate to; they understand my academic experience, have been through its somewhat ‘difficulties’ which made me feel comfortable when I was around them asking them all sorts of questions! You are never a stranger once you have crossed their threshold; you become one of the team!
