Majd Hajjar - BLOM shabeb workshop participant

April 21, 2012

Can you please introduce yourself?

My name is Majd Hajjar, I am 17 years old and student at the Grand Lycée Franco-Libanais, Ashrafieh.

Tell us more abou your education.

I said before, I am a student at the Grand Lycée in Ashrafieh; currently I am in 11th grade, with emphasis on scientific subjects, mainly Physics. I'm also studying both French and Lebanese Bacc courses at school which will come to my benefit when I am at university.

How did you come into contact with the BLOM shabeb Program?

My mom first told me about BLOM shabeb. I was slightly confused as to what I wanted to do after school and it was affecting my studies, so she told me to try the aptitude test that BLOM shabeb was providing.

And how did the program help you?

Well I believe it pretty accurately described what are my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to studying. It also helped me set down a plan for my future in university as to what I want to be doing which makes clearer for me now, in school, what skills I should be building on.

Is there a message you'd like to convey to young people such as yourself?
I have to say that people always say that you should do what you love, but I think you should ask for advice. I wanted to do something that I wouldn't be able to do at all, and only after taking advice from people who knew more about this than I did, did I really discover what it is I should be doing.
