Blomshabeb: Hello Malak, can you please introduce yourself to our readers?
Malak Darwish: I'm Malak Darwish, 18 years old from Kleileh, near Tyre. I recently graduated from the Tyre Public High-School for Girls, and presented my official Baccalaureate (part II) exams in the Literature and Humanities section.
BS: You came were 9th overall in your section, what can you tell us about that?
MD: Yes, I was 9th overall, and third in the South region. Of course, it was a great experience getting these results, because I know there were many achievers presenting the exams at the same time as I was, but, honestly speaking, I wanted better results, because I know I could have done better.
BS: So what are you current endeavors?
MD: I enrolled in the Arabic Literature program at the Lebanese University, and I hope to study journalism afterwards. I've always liked Arabic literature, and have always been very good at it. At the same time, I'm working on publishing a book; it's a collection of short stories I've written.
BS: What can you tell us about the Blomshabeb event that was held in honor of the top students?
MD: Shortly after I got my results, representatives from BLOM bank called and extended an invitation to the event that was held in our honor, and of course I attended. There, the Blomshabeb team informed us of the benefits of the website and then distributed gift packages to everyone; there were also 5 scholarships to be won and my name came up as one of the winners.
BS: Do you have some advice to share with people your age?
MD: I'd tell them to study well, to work hard, and to always have ambition, because as long as they are ambitious, they can achieve.
