About MUBS

The Middle East Canadian Academy of Technology (MECAT) is the founding institution of the Business and Sciences University College. The Business and Sciences University College was established in the year 2000 in Lebanon (governmental license based on decree number 3585/2000).
In October 2007 and in accordance with the Lebanese Cabinet decision, the academic status has changed from a university college to a university. The name has also changed from the Business and Sciences University College to the Modern University for Business and Science-MUBS (decree number 868).

Faculties

    • Faculty of Business Administration
      Graduates may find employment in general management, accounting, finance, production and inventory control, retail and industrial sales and distribution, human resources, advertising, marketing, and tourism and hospitality management. By applying what they have learned, the graduates should have excellent opportunities for advancement.
    • Faculty of Computer & Applied Sciences
      Graduates of the faculty majoring in computer science or communication systems will be well equipped with strong understanding of programming, networking, electronics and computer hardware. Graphic design graduates will have a deep knowledge in web design, multimedia and advertising art direction.
    • Faculty of Education & Social Work
      The Faculty of Education is committed to advancing educational theory and professional practice. We seek to achieve this through creative teaching, applied research and professional service. We are committed to the initial and continuing development of innovative and ethical teachers, administrators and researchers. Our graduates have found rewarding career opportunities as early childhood educators, elementary teachers, infant / toddler care specialists, supervisors, administrators, resource teachers, early interventionists.

Campus Life

MUBS believes that extracurricular activities are an essential part of a university student’s life. For this, it continuously seeks opportunities to hold such activities that may help develop a better student’s spirit and personality, develops civic responsibility, empowers students and provides service to the society through the cultural initiatives.
MUBS also offers a wide range of sports in its Athletics Department. Just like all student activities, sports are a vital part of a university student’s life.

Admission

How?

Fees and Financial Aid

For fee administration purposes, students enrolled in eleven or more credits in the Fall or Spring, including credits for Continuous Learning courses, are full-time for that term. All other students are part-time for fee administration purposes for that term.

Undergraduate Tuition Fees
Tuition/Credit (Computer, Graphic Design & Business): 130$
Tuition /Credit (Education & Social Work): 110$

Graduate Tuition Fees
Tuition per Credit Hour: 110$

Financial Aid
Financial Aids are granted based on the need a student demonstrates. Priority is given to full time undergraduate students. Students placed on the university’s honor list are granted additional awards.

Any student applying for admission at MUBS may submit a Financial Aid Form. The form is available at the Student Affairs Office & should be filled in early in the semester.

Applications with missing information will be disregarded. Priority will be given to full time undergraduate students. MUBS performs necessary investigations & analysis on information appearing on the form. Several factors affect the percent of financial aid granted. These factors include the family annual income, assets and the number of family members and their status.

Work Study Program
As part of its Financial Aid Work-Study Program, MUBS offers its students the opportunity to work on an hourly basis. Interested students may submit an application form available at the Student Affairs Office. Placement is made early in the semester based on eligibility for job, financial need & job availability
