The Middle East Canadian Academy of Technology (MECAT) is the founding institution of the Business and Sciences University College. The Business and Sciences University College was established in the year 2000 in Lebanon (governmental license based on decree number 3585/2000).
In October 2007 and in accordance with the Lebanese Cabinet decision, the academic status has changed from a university college to a university. The name has also changed from the Business and Sciences University College to the Modern University for Business and Science-MUBS (decree number 868).

All other students are part-time for fee administration purposes for that term.

Financial Aid
Financial Aids are granted based on the need a student demonstrates. Priority is given to full time undergraduate students. Students placed on the university’s honor list are granted additional awards.
Any student applying for admission at MUBS may submit a Financial Aid Form. The form is available at the Student Affairs Office & should be filled in early in the semester.
Applications with missing information will be disregarded. Priority will be given to full time undergraduate students. MUBS performs necessary investigations & analysis on information appearing on the form. Several factors affect the percent of financial aid granted. These factors include the family annual income, assets and the number of family members and their status.
Work Study Program
As part of its Financial Aid Work-Study Program, MUBS offers its students the opportunity to work on an hourly basis. Interested students may submit an application form available at the Student Affairs Office. Placement is made early in the semester based on eligibility for job, financial need & job availability
